The Adventure, The Website, The Movie....
Long time no write, well I'm back with a vengenance!!
AVA FINALLY decided to update their website. Below is a review of each section:
THE ADVENTURE
This is a movie depicting a woman being brougt back to life in a Frankenstein type experiment using a swimming pool instead
of electricity and a little robot. Now I know if we speak to Tom there is probably some deep seeded meaning behind each shot and the
entire construction of the film as art. Don't get me wrong, I surpsingly liked it. The soundtrack pretty much sounded like
a BoxCar Racer song with too many lyrics and not enough space in between the words for me to get into the music. Tom has
had this habit lately. I guess when you have so many years of good lyrics and opinions bottled up by Mark and Travis you
just have to let as much out as you can. Sometime less is more in my opinion. Anyways, the movie (shot entirely in black
and white) also features shots of the rest of the band and Tom just standing trying to look like their not acting and being cool
and riding on the subway somewhere. Once again I fail to capture the deeper meaning here but I'm sure someone out there
knows the true meaning of Tom's artistic vision.
THE MOVIE
I saw this already it was called The Wall by Pink Floyd.
THE WEBSITE
This site, which is WAY too Flash intensive, has a mailing list to sign up for, tour dates and not much else.
I don't know is it just me or is everyone else a little put off by the fact AVA is going to tour with Foo Fighters...

John Kerry
I recently came across this cool video of showing Tom speaking on behalf of John Kerry. You can view the video by clicking here
here. In the video Tom discusses how he
researched John Kerry before he even decided to run for president. This brought some questions to my mind. Sure Tom has a somewhat vested interest in being political
since his brother is in the army, but I sometime question his motives. He had not been involved in politics before the election. But then again neither had many other musicians
who suddenly came out to show their support for whoever the most popular candidate was, who wasn't George Bush. Could it be that perhaps these recent politically active
musicians were motivated by agents and the hopes of free PR with a young target audience, or is someone like Tom generally interested in politics. Despite my best objections
I would say that I think Tom is interested in creating change but hasn't yet really defined what that change is in his own mind. He sort of outlines this philosophy in the Kerrang! interview
concerning Angles and Airwaves. You can read the article here. My challenge to Tom is this. Rather then just create a new Album which inspires others
to act, why not take a vested stake in improving a certain cause that actually means something to you rather then going with whatever the hot "save the whales" politically conscious cause of the week is.
You sing about hardships, aliens, the government, the struggle of the youth to be noticed. Why not take action, without going all Bono on us, and focus for a change. That is if Rick DeVoe will let you....

Atticus
Does anyone even care about Atticus anymore or is it just MacBeth? Frankly, I like Atticus much better but I pretty
much stopped wearing both since Blink broke up. I was never able to get the true story but I heard
that Atticus was based off of the movie "To Kill a Mockingbird." In the movie the head attorney for the defense
is Atticus Finch, played by Gregory Peck. So Blink, Mark and Tom to be more precise, took the name Atticus for their
clothing company. The main logo is a dead mockingbird. I'd gotten some requests for this information. Hope others like the story.
In other news the site is still progressing and will be undergoing some major changes over the next month. Stay tuned!

Angles and Airwaves - a Macbeth commercial?
I want to like Angles and Airwaves, really I do. It's just I find it hard.
Granted, we really haven't heard a fully Angles and Airwaves song, and I shouldn't judge before hearing the music, but I'm not even talking about liking or
not liking the band just from a musical perspective. I'm talking from a promotional side.
It's just is a total turnoff to me that Tom or whoever tell's Tom what to do, has put a link for MacBeth directly on the Angles and Airwaves homepage. What does a clothing company have to do with a band.
Am I not a true fan unless I wear a certain pair of sneakers or T-shirt with a MacBeth logo?
If it was just a link I might be able to let it slide but the band, and ostensibly Tom, has gone further by
Podcasting directly from the MacBeth website.
I guess all former Blink fans must now choose sides with either Atticus, Famous Starts and Straps or MacBeth.
I'm surprised Scott Raynor hasn't started a clothing company just to make it fair.

Happy New Year!
So it was New Years Eve, All American Rejects were playing on MTV, Mariah Carey is singing in Times Square and no where to be found were Angles and Airwaves or Plus-44.
Blink's and Tom's management have consistently disappointed me over the years with their mis-management of Tom's image and once again here is another example.
With one of the most anticipated bands of the year there was zero mention/performance or anything from Tom's new band. But then again fame/money aren't important when your developing
a brand new "Joshua Tree"/Coldplay style concept for a band. It's the music that matters By the way did you buy something from loserkids.com for Christmas?
Oh and is it just me or am I the only one that remembers Anthony Celestino?

I was wathcing a Meet the Barkers marathon the other day.
While the show was mildly entertaining, it was funny to me that Travis is such a pussy! Letting his self involved wife boss him around while he insulates himself with other wanna be tattoed
ghetto gangbangers. Ooooh your so tuff Travis, worrying about your screen printing on your $5000 hand made tuxedo and running off to the shooting range (when you clearly don't know how
to operate a weapon) during your wife's wedding shower. Well done!
What disgusted me the most was the total way in which Travis claims to be a hardcore punk but lives in a multi-million dollar home and spends money like water. Being poor does not equal being punk. But lately Travis is just turning into a poser if you ask me....
In other news, this site is progressing along nicely and will once return to its former glory. Stay tuned....

After much thought, TomDelonge.com is being relaunched with two goals:
1) To connect people influenced by Tom Delonge, his music and the punk lifestyle.
2) To expose poser corporate punks using our connections in the music industry and keep the true punk spirit alive.
Viva la revolucion!
